There’s a whole lotta new/old stuff coming into Penney & Company this week!
For those of you who love age, authenticity and down and dirty patina, this is the haul for you!
First up, a gorgeous and rugged canvas covered trunk. It has wooden interiors lined with old newspaper and some great stamps and tags attached. Amazing as a coffee table, at the foot of a bed or something to put the TV on.
Next check out this primitive stool or occasional table! I love the octagonal top and the almost quatrefoil design created above the notches on the base. The perfect spot to set down a glass near an arm chair or sofa.
Sticking with the primitive, this sweet little hall table or console is perfectly battered and worn. The simple honest shape, smaller scale and wooden peg construction gets my heart going! I see this in a small hall with a simple mirror and vase of flowers or as a cute nightstand with books piled on the lower shelf with a vintage alarm clock and lamp.
This next one is a beauty! It’s a large round antique pedestal dining table with a leaf. It needs some repair to the finish but the massive claw carved feet and impressive bulbous pedestal make it so unique and desirable. It would be killer painted or refinished or just waxed and left as is. We’re investigating so the price is pending. Oh and please note the foam risers are because the floor is very uneven at this spot in the store.
Finally this pair of sweet antique chairs painted in the perfect shade of Martha Stewart green. They’re peeling and perfect and would add so much history, charm and rustic patina to any home. I might consider scraping off any loose paint bits and clear coating. Then they’d be great as a decorative accent in a dining room or how about in a corner of a bath room or guest room with white fluffy towels piled up on the seat?
