Happy Friday everyone!
Today may signal the end of vacation for you and the beginning of a new year at work and that might be exciting or a bummer depending on your situation. As for me, I’ve been back at it at the shop for a few days and feeling a little sluggish after the insanity that was December. But I think we should collectively rejoice in the greatness that is Friday and enjoy this day! Here’s to a great Friday-day and a fun and relaxed Friday evening (I’m thinking cozy sweat pants, movie, take-out…are you with me Sara?).
Here’s what I was up to yesterday when I was too caught up in paint to blog (gasp!): Painting an antique 6-drawer dresser that’s solid as heck with dove tailed solid wood drawers and gorgeous carving. It’s been painted a beautiful French Linen greige. Now to wax it! Also the base of a lovely and substantial dining table – same French Linen and would look stunning paired with chalky white chairs (just realized I have some!) and creamy white china. Here are the progress shots…
Also, I was up bright and early today for my first radio interview ever! It was a quick phone interview with a Winnipeg radio station because I’ll be speaking at the Winnipeg Kitchen, Bath & Renovation Show next weekend, January 11th and 12th!
Read all about it here!

Thanks for the TGIF post! Opened my Chatelaine Feb/13 issue and there you were on page 54. Fab colour on that lamp!
Been to Winnipeg several times on business. Yes its COLD but better than summer and man sized bugs. They don’t just bite they leave scars!!!
But GREAT people and the best wild blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had. BEST Perogies in Canada!!! EAT, layer, and have a great weekend!

Love the colour French Linen greige – would love the brand of paint and actual colour and what type of wax you use?
It’s Annie Sloan Chalk paint, French Linen and it’s her brand of soft, clear wax too. Hope that helps!

Love the Table! I enjoy repainting/repurposing old furniture, but I didn’t realize I should be waxing. Is this to protect or to enhance or just for a particular finish? Or maybe instead of varithane?
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint which requires waxing, but with regular semigloss paint you don’t need to. Although I think it can’t hurt! Creates a nice dull finish, not so glossy as poly. Hope that helps!
