Nature Under Glass – Terrariums

August 9, 2012 by admin

I don’t know about you, but I think there’s something so beautiful, so magical about enclosing special objects under glass.  Maybe it’s because it’s like a little museum installation and whatever goes under the glass becomes like a priceless treasure.  Or maybe it’s the miniature-ness of it all – a tiny garden in a terrarium is always thrilling.  Here’s one I made for House & Home Magazine a while back…

This is all part of a story about decorating with garden objects indoors – you know weathered old shutters, garden urns and of course plants!  I like this little idea because even if you can’t keep up with a whole garden or balcony full of plants, you can certainly tend to one tiny specimen under glass.

  1. What a great idea! Nice to bring a bit of green into the home, and the jars give it that extra sparkle
