Postcard From Maine

August 7, 2012 by admin

I’ve been meaning to show you pictures from our trip to Kennebunkport Maine this year.  It was our fourth year going (to celebrate our anniversary) and we love it more each time.  Seriously, it’s just such an authentically beautiful place full of inspiration.  If you ever get a chance, you have to go!

Each year, Sara and I stay at The Colony Hotel – a gorgeous rambling place perched on a bluff over looking the ocean.

We spent lots of time lounging by the salt water pool…

And dining poolside from The Marine Room lounge – a moodily lit sea-inspired bar/restaurant at the hotel.

The hotel is full of lovely, romantic details and special old-school touches…

The rooms have the original old furniture and charming wallpaper and no TV’s!

All of this beauty, the delicious food and fresh sea breezes adds up to pure relaxation and restoration for us.  More about Maine and the beautiful area surrounding The Colony tomorrow!

We have stayed at the Colony Hotel many times over the years, starting back in the `960s with my parents. It is a lovely hotel and your description is perfect. Glad you have enjoyed too!
