Chugging Along at Penney & Company!

June 14, 2012 by admin

It’s been another sunny day at Penney & Company with a happy buzz downtown because of the bustling farmer’s market.  It feels as though there is change in the air in old Whitby.

Today Susan (who blogs about delicious alergy-sensitive cooking here) popped in with a charming market tote full of fresh produce.  We had a good chat about food and our local community and decorating and it was lovely!  Then Julie came and picked up a few things (including this charming green painted table with glass knobs) and before I knew it we were loading up her convertible and she was zooming off with a car full of beautiful, soulful pieces.  So all in all, just what I hope for this little store of mine.  I hope you can come by and join in the fun soon!

I’m gonna miss that table…and look at that tote full of veggies!

Julie’s off with a car-load! I still can’t believe we fit it all in! Sorry for the squinty picture Julie!

You are the little engine that could! Running a lovely shop and blogging, promoting Whitby and all your friends, it great! Love seeing the great pictures and hearing all the news! Wishing you continued success!

I truly enjoyed visiting your store yesterday. All the fresh produce from the market was transformed into Dairy, Egg and Mustard Free New Potato Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette! Yummy! Pure summer fare! I will be featuring it tomorrow. The linen tea towel worked perfectly as a pseudo ‘potato sack’ backdrop for the dish! Looking forward to another market and Penney shop! The strawberry fields await me! Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles

Whitby is benefitting greatly by your presence, you are a one man civic pride, promotional machine! I’m pleased all is going well & that you’re enjoying your new venture. It looks so peaceful & tranquil… we could use a bit of that in the “Excited States”,another election yr where half of the population loathes the other. Very tiresome & bad kharma…. I’m trying to imagine cottage country & the Georgian Bay,my own little happy place! Cheers Michael & enjoy summer!
