Other good ideas: painted/upholstered chairs paired with a traditional wood table, a bleached wood sideboard topped with a pair of urns with big scale, and a curvy, unusual mirror to add polish and intrigue. And if this isn’t a point for wallpaper and lacquered wood work, I don’t know what is!

I saw this on the magazine rack recently and stopped in my tracks. It really is a stunning room; I especially love the deft mix of multiple shades of purple and green with gold and crystal accents. There is so much going on here, but it doesn’t feel cluttered.

I know, that wallpaper is killer! Don’t know if I could commit to purple woodwork, but maybe a painted piece of furniture? Or trim in a fun and crazy bedroom where I could shut the door if I wanted…haha!
