Todd Klein – Happy Home

November 16, 2011 by admin

Just a little decorating eye-candy for you!  Todd Klein, a talented U.S. designer transformed this home to be colourful, layered, and most of all, happy.  I just love a home with spirit like this!

I’m craving pale mint walls these days.  I especially love this combo of mint, black and raspberry!  The natural floor covering tones things down and the gilded mirror adds history and substance to such an ice cream coloured palette.

Love the old cracked leather on this tufted sofa.  A wall of well-used books is a big style statement in my book (no pun intended)!  Also love the symmetrical floor lamps with tapered shades.

It’s nice to have rich, cozy rooms like the library space and then also have light, bright and cheerful rooms like this eating area.  The striped rug is just pure fun and I love the painted chairs and their seats upholstered in different colours.  You may recall this room was on the cover of House Beautiful Magazine.

Who doesn’t like a bright, white kitchen?  The french bistro-style stools are the perfect homely (and stylish) touch and I love the hint of yellow!

Sunny yellow continues upstairs on some glowing, lacquered walls.  This custard yellow room just glows and seems to me like the perfect place to start your day.  Quirky prints on the cushions and a substantial reading lamp make for a room that’s not predictable and full of charm.

Just my style as well, very elegant without being ostentatious. And Michael, kudos for using homely in its British context – I’ve done that & gotten some peculiar looks!

What beautiful rooms. I love the colors, all of them.I especially love the many books. I would never get out of that room. How whimsical is the light fixture in the eating area.Any shade of blue ,aqua or green are my favorites.I realize there are no blue walls here but I love the mint green and the blues in your home. 3. my biz cards/website are that same mint green. I love mint. & I love mint green walls, beautiful next to the gold. the mirror reminds me of the black one that used to be gold in my apartment. :)
